In
November 2002, California voters approved Proposition 50 (Water Bond
Act), which amended the California Water Code.
Chapter 8 of the Act provides $500 million in water-related grants statewide
including $200 million to Southern California jurisdictions and non-profit organizations. Projects
that are funded by Chapter 8 must be consistent with a locally adopted and State
approved Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) plan. |

84:
Clean Water, Parks and Coastal Protection Bond
Proposition
84, a $5.4 billion initiative slated for the November
2006 statewide ballot, provides funding for all
of the major natural resource protection and water
programs at the state level. The total amount of
funding for water programs is $2.714 billion and
includes funding for the following types of projects:
